Kellie Pickler

Kellie Pickler was born in Albemarle, North Carolina on June 28, 1986. Kellie Pickler graduated in 2004 from North Stanly High School in New London, North Carolina. She was a cheerleader and beauty queen. At her high-school commencement, she sang “On the Side of Angels” by LeAnn Rimes. The 19-year-old Pickler auditioned for American Idol in the fall of 2005 in Greensboro, North Carolina. She sang both Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone” and Martina McBride’s “A Broken Wing”. The judges sent her to Hollywood. Kellie Pickler advanced through the semi-final rounds in February. On March 9, she reached the Top 12. After her elimination, she appeared in numerous shows promoting the TV show and performed the song “Walkin’ After Midnight” in some of her appearances. On July 17, 2006, she signed a record deal with 19 Recordings/BNA Records. On October 31, 2006 she released her debut album, Small Town Girl. The album produced three Top 20 singles in “Red High Heels”, “I Wonder”, and “Things That Never Cross a Man’s Mind”. Her current album entitled “Kellie Pickler” was released in September of 2008. The lead-off single, “Don’t You Know You’re Beautiful”, reached #21 on the Hot Country Songs charts.


Westlife is a pop band that was formed on July 3, 1998 in Dublin, Ireland. The group’s original lineup comprised Brian McFadden, Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily, and Shane Filan. Filan and Feehily are the band’s lead vocalists. In March 1999, Westlife released their first single, “Swear It Again” which immediately topped the charts in Ireland and in UK for two weeks.On November 1, 1999, Westlife released their self titled debut album. The album entered the UK chart at its number 2 peak, selling a little over 83,000 units. It remains the only Westlife album to date to chart in the US, peaking at #129 on the Billboard 200. Westlife has since released eight more albums. They have garnered 14 number one singles in the United Kingdom, the third-highest in UK history, just tailing behind Elvis Presley and The Beatles. The band has also won numerous awards such as the “Best Irish Pop Act” at the annual Ireland Meteor Awards and ITV “Record of the Year” award in the UK. The band has broken a few top records, including “Music artist with most consecutive number 1’s in the UK” and the “Biggest selling arena act in the UK”.

Whitney Houston

Whitney Houston was born on August 9, 1963 in East Orange, New Jersey. She is a direcr relative to several famous sold singers including mother Cissy Houston, cousin Dionne Warwick, and godmother Aretha Franklin. Houston spent some of her teenage years touring nightclubs with her mother while Cissy was performing, and she would occasionally get on stage and perform with her mother. In 1977, at age fourteen, she was the featured lead vocalist on the Michael Zager Band’s single “Life’s a Party”. Then in 1978, at age fifteen, Houston sang background vocals on Chaka Khan’s hit single “I’m Every Woman”, a song she would later turn into a hit for herself on her monstrous-selling soundtrack album The Bodyguard. In 1985 she released her self titled debut album. The album initially had a slow commercial response, but emerged as a success during 1986 with the help of three number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The album serves as Houston’s best-selling studio album to date, with sales of over 30 million copies worldwide. Whitney Houston has since released five albums with total worldwide sales of over 140 million. She is ranked as the fourth best-selling female artist in the United States by the Recording Industry Association of America, with 54 million certified albums.

Boys Like Girls

Boys Like Girls is an American rock band from Boston, Massachusetts. The quartet soon opened a PureVolume account to showcase their music, and uploaded a rough demo of “The Great Escape” and an acoustic rendition of “Thunder”. By the end of the year, the group had landed the #1 spot on the website’s Top Unsigned Artists chart. They released their debut album on August 22, 2006 through Columbia Records/Red Ink. The album’s lead single was “Hero/Heroine”, which was followed by “The Great Escape”. The album has been ceritified Gold by the RIAA for over 500,000 units shipped. On November 4, 2008 Boys Like Girls released the live album, Read Between The Lines. They were the co-headliners for the Soundtrack of Your Summer Tour 2008 that recently toured across the U.S. along with Good Charlotte, The Maine, and Metro Station. On February 10, 2009 lead vocalist, Martin Johnson, stated on his website that the group had begun to record their new album. Boys Like Girls new album will be recorded half in Vancouver and half in New York City because there are two different producers/production teams, two different environments, and two different styles of inspiration.
